Hi Myra, do you know if any of them are cold hardy? I would love more plants but we have very cold winters and I need things I can winter in the bottom.
I'm just happier outside!

:-\  maybe, maybe not .. I know that is not a very good answer ... I just put it in the pond last year ... the plant is not that tall ... it is growing up a rock hill ... I am very surprised how much it has grown and that was over the winter ..  most of it is growing now on the top of the water   :(

Yup, it's a cold weather loving plant.
It'll seem to wilt away and disappear in extremely hot climates, but not to worry,
once it cools down, you'll see it sprouting again.

It will actually get covered and frozen in ice, and still be green and growing!
Gets little clusters of white blooms too.  O0
And it's edible for fish and humans too!  8)

definately watercress!  I have a patch that looks just like it...  I put it in salads and eat it on sandwiches like lettuce.  Mine comes up on its own in the winter here (south florida) and disappears in the summer.  Great water filter.

Watercress.

Have you tried munching some?  Watercress is wonderfully peppery.

Most definately watercress. Grows wild in moving springs near here. I got some from a grocercy store stuck under rock at bottom of waterfall. Grew very prolific. When it got to big and spilled into pond the kio would have a salad for lunch. Thanks for posting pictures. :)
