Updated pix of the lilypond.. being tore down.
« on: April 06, 2008, 08:15:58 PM »
Some of you saw my previous post about our landslide.. My lily pond was once 1 ft below and 1 ft above ground.
We tore it apart yesterday and I put all the lilies in my lower pond and currently have the goldies in a stocktank.

I gave away most of my goldie last year and I have too many again!
Put 7 in the lilypond and I have lots of babies... counted over 50!! :o

What a project!
I hope that little Alberta Spruce doesn't go over the edge!
Are you building a new pond?

How do your baby goldies survive?  I need more goldies to feed turtles!  Unfortunately big fish eat all the babies.  >:(

Thanks all.. I'll post some more pix later.

We won't be building the lilypond in the same location, nothing will be going there except for some evergreens or trees to help stabilize once we fix and fill.

There's a nice sunny spot which is away from the hillside and near the woods but I'm very afraid that the deer will destroy my lilies there because it's close to where they come to cross over to go to the creek.

I'm unsure at this point what to do because I might need DH's assistance but I'm not going to bother him with it right now because he's got so much on his plate currently.

We are looking at property which has 20 acres so if we decide to purchase that I won't have this problem.. 1 acre on a hill just isn't enough ground!

wow... well sure hope you get your other land so       then rebuilding wont be for such a sad reason.  Has to be such a big dissapointment when you lose a pond.
