After going through the boxes of stuff my aunt packed into the back of my van, I discovered a brand new Pondmaster pump, 950 gph, still in the box. I asked her if she wanted to return that for a refund...she said no. Keep it. Having addional pumping power, I figured out an easier way to get the waterfall built!
Hubby drilled some holes in a length of PVC pipe and capped it off.
We positioned it beneath the rocks...
And voila'...
A waterfall...in Lousiana
It has the illusion of a fall coming over from the other pond, but not the associated leaks.
My plan is to put two large buckets (with lids, one for each pond) disguised or buried at the pond edge as external filters...easier to clean than my current set up. It was impossible to clean during the winter and requires me to wade in during the summer...frequently. The water will return to the waterfall for the big pond andto the fountain for the above pond. I have enough pumps (but not enough outlets...yet!) to put a trickle filter for each pond, too.
Speaking of the new pond....the new babies have adapted so well. Hubby built a frame for a net for that pond (I forgot to take photos) ...we don't dare leave that pond uncovered.
I love this photo....
