I just found this site and joined today.  A little about my self.
I have been designing and installing Koi Ponds for 23 years, 1st as a hobby and now for customers.  I specialize in DIY filtration.  In most cases the simpler the better.  I hope I can in some small way add to and learn from this new site.

Welcome as well, great website! Kent Wallace version of a sand and gravel 55 gal plastic drum waterfall filter (substituted crushed oyster shell chicken grit for the top layer of sand), and a 55 gal plastic drum sediment chamber with a diy microscreen (planning on adding a answer 325 this week) for me. Anything new on the diy filtration horizon?

Chained to the kitchen sink.

That's where I am.  :) Oh wait, no, I'm here. Shirking my responsibilities.  ;D

The dang dishes will wait for me. ::)

Seriously, you have a great website and your wife posted a huge amount of cool stuff in Chit Chat. Seems like you are both very, very busy people!

Glad to have you here, Steve.

Say, if you build KOI ponds, why do you call yourself BIRDman ? ?? ?

Hello from Linda.

I think I'll be totally happy here provided that no one sends be abusive pm's about me being an athiest and the fact that I have a gay son.

I love my fish but am no pond expert, I leave that up to Birdman, but I do like joining in the chit chat and maybe exchanging craft ideas.

Hi Steve! Welcome --  very nice people on this forum!

I haven't even started on our DIY filter yet.  Haven't even opened the box (pump) we bought from you.  We started digging our filter pit hole, and then the rains started and have not let up yet.  It's like we have another pond, instead of filter pit.  I even tossed a couple goldies in it to help with the skeeters until things dry up, so we can start building.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone.  it's nice to see some old friends here, and will be nice to make some new ones.
I haven't had much time to post the last week, had a couple of local jobs that have kept me busy.  But I'm getting caught up.
