Heading out in the new rig tonight :)

Well, apart from having to install a Maxxair Vent cover on one of the vents, I think i''ve got all the modifications I want done for now. This weekend we are just heading 30 minutes out to camp with good friends of ours who Shane works with in the summer (they winter in Yuma
) It's got power and water hookups so will be easy camping. Next weekend I plan to take the twins by myself out to a provincial park near Kamloops. No hook-ups but I think I understand all the systems for dry camping
Good trial for our holiday in July which only has 2 nights of hookups.
i'll get some pictures posted after the weekend

Oh goody Krista. I hope you have a good trip. I'm sure the boys are downright excited about the "new rig". Don't forget the duct tape.

Have fun!
I've never understood why anyone would go to Yuma, it is the armpit of Arizona. It must be that so many others go there that they have friends. It sure isn't for the scenery. It isn't nice at all. Hotter than Phoenix and Tucson too.

thanks guys
We had a great weekend out on our maiden voyage! We didn't have any problems that we know of
And there really isn't anything that I would change... I'm adding a flag pole this week on the tongue and we may still add an additional solar panel; we'll see if it's needed. The only injury on this trip was a blood blister on my finger from squishing it between two bins... kids did great following the new rules that go along with camping in the great outdoors.
Here are some pictures:

middle to back...
Outside at the first campground

That is soooo cool. Beautiful, inside and out. Is that a Fedora hanging on the wall?

That's a very good looking RV there, Krista.
Do you call this "camping the easy way"?
I'm just kidding...I really think it's the perfect way to go camping.
I hope you have a lot of fun.
I'd love to have one of those, but DH wouldn't be able to handle it anymore. I should have bought one ten years ago.

Nice rig Krista!! It's really spacious. It's the best way to travel I think, no hotels, no suitcases, your own bathroom, your own towels and sheets, take the dogs if you want... what's not to like?

thanks guys
we are really pleased with it and how it tows behind our new truck
We still generally do most of our camping out in the boonies.. partly because we dont' want to spend money on a campsite and partly because for the most part I don't want to be touching my neighbors in a 'rv parking lot' which so many campgrounds are like. We are limited a bit on where we can go but our favorite free sites are still just right for us
We did try the A/C this weekend but found we didn't need it even when it got over 90 on the Saturday. Seems to be well insulated and has tinted windows which helps I'm sure.
i like that i can hear when the twins are trying to escape... in the tent they could (and did) slip out the zipper silently :S
oh and the hat is a Brad Paisley 'girly' cowboy hat....
