I did have some plants come up in a pond. Will look and see if they are still there. I do not have any seeds.
Happy ponding!

Gorgon plant, Chinese foxnut - common names.

I won one last year in a contest somewhat late in the season...I placed it in the pond and it produced large and very exotic looking pads but unfortunately did not produce a flower...the pads and stems had a lot of very nasty thorns on them and it was tough to handle, even with gloves...I was hoping it would bloom this year but, alas, it did not survive our winter here in SoCal, although it might have died as a result of a raccoon visit.

One of our members, Vicki, has them. I don't remember what her screen name is here. ::)
I got one from her last year but mine didn't live. Its my understanding that they have to keep
a pretty constant warm water temp. My water temps would swing too far down at night for it to survive.
Maybe she'll see this thread.

I have some baby eurayales.  Their pads are maybe as wide as a 50 cent piece and
of course are longer, being somewhat  arrow shaped right now.  Would be glad to
sell a few of them. Have maybe 7 or 8.  I don't much think Vickie has any right now
as I just sent her a couple. Her seeds not sprouted as of yet.  If anyone interested,
e mail me at fernlady1559@aol.com.  They are heat loving plants and heavy feeders
also.

Euryale ferox rarely sends blooms above the water, most blooms will open underwater and the flowers are not very impressive......they are purple (when they do bloom above water, and like everything else are covered with thorns) They are also self fertilizing.......
For those interested here is a web sight with photos and some info....
