Early spring at lowes I brought home a whole dumpster full of plants they had discarded.  almost all of them had no tags.. I still have a few I have not been able to identify.

the first one I believe came with something that someone mailed me so hoping they can identify.. I am almost wondering if its a weed.. it has almost taken over one of the berms on my pond that will filled with steel slag fines.. tells me it cant be to particular about where it grows :)

The 2nd pretty plant has red flowers with white .. it has bloomed its head off all season.  I want to move it if its a perrineal to another spot.

The 3rd is growing along side my lotus pot and has covered half the dock and covered with purple flowers.  would also love to know if its annual or not.

Thanks in advance!

I kidded you Tink about "Dumpster Diving"  I have done it too. I picked up 4 big bales of straw last oct, from a big market, they used them in a Halloween display. A great mulch and winter protection, I hope, for my Poinciana tree.
The plants look in good shape!  You did well girl!

The first one, I think, is a type of buttercup called 'Buttered Popcorn'.
(Ranunculus repens 'Buttered Popcorn')
I'm not sure though...would like to see it in bloom.
Personally, it is WAYYYY too invasive for me. :o
Very perennial.

The second one is Salvia 'Hotlips' like Mike said.
(Salvia microphylla 'Hot Lips') Perennial in zones 6 and up.

And the bottom one with the purple blooms is a Verbena.
Probably Glandularia canadensis 'Homestead Purple'.
Might be perennial for you if you have a mild winter.
Peace to all  ... Joyce
