Need Help With AZ Ponds
« on: June 17, 2008, 11:30:48 AM »
Hi.  A couple of weeks back, I posted that I had ordered 1 1/4" tubing from AZ Ponds, but instead got 1 3/8" tubing, which does not fit my filter.  I have contacted AZ Ponds several times, and they say they will issue a call slip (or whatever) for UPS to come pick up the package.

Well, it's been out on my porch for THREE WEEKS, and I have exchanged numerous e-mails with AZ Ponds, but nothing seems to be getting that package back to them.  I don't know if he actually did issue the call slip(s), or if he's snowballing me.  I can't imagine them being disreputable, but, well, come on, it's been nearly a month.  I can't use the tubing, it's not what I ordered, and I need the credit to come off my charge card.  Unfortunately we're now in the 2nd billing cycle, so I have to pay for the tubing on my charge card bill.

Does anyone know someone personally over there, or have a better way of contacting them other than their "contact us" button?  Or other suggestions???

wow to the replies you got.

I am told AZ has a good reputation.  let's hope it was a simple screw-up.

might be best to call them but my dad is 85 and he called them and they were down right rude to him told him to order online and hung up on him. I have ordered from them before but wont do it again. Al has been told about the rude guy in his office and he does nothing about it. I have seen it time and time again. The guy is more important than his customers.

You shouldn't have to pay the charge on your credit card. Call the credit card company and tell them you wish to stop payment for that charge. You are expecting a credit from AZponds and they are dragging their feet. The credit card company will put a hold on that charge and ask you for something in writing.

My gosh, Susan, you're right.  I hadn't thought about that.  But too late now, as I've been dicking with them so long that the bill has already arrived and is sitting on my kitchen table waiting to be paid.

I did phone, and talked to the same man who helped me before.  He remembered my call, and said he will again reissue the UPS "call" slip, and they should hopefully come get the tubing Friday.

He seems unbelieving that the tubing doesn't fit.  Geesh!  You can put a ruler on it and see it's not 1 1/4"

Thanks for the help.

You have 60 days on your credit card bill, after that your stuck with it. Since they are not taking care of it at AZ ponds put a stop payment on it with your credit card and if it taken care of later then pay for it. Usually I just pay the shipping and eat that charge to make sure it gets back & the problem gets taken care of. But I rarely deal with AZ.

I agree with Gary/justme completely !

They're main focus is VOLUME sales instead of providing good customer service.    It's the $$$ is what is important to them.
I was told that they can not sell certain brands because AZ ponds did not follow the guidelines of the sales amount and sold too cheap so they would sell by volume.

Even though I admit that I am almost as guilty, I continue to order ONLINE with them to save money.. shame on me but that is what I have to do to afford things. (go with the best price)

In the past I have been treated rudely on the phone.  They do not believe in Hello, Thank you, etc..... heck people complain about Walmart but at least most of the time their employees will say Hello and Thank you!

As far as Al Zimmer, last time I was told that he is rarely there anymore and things are ran by his employees now?

Jules since you HAVE spoken with them in person and they are being negligent,  you should pay your credit card in full, you can still dispute the transaction and be credited when things go thru.   The cc company would tell you to pay in full anyway due to the fact that it takes time for processing.
