They were beefing up the Bison... ;) (no pun intended)  lol

These are all less than a year old...

I got this baby to come over to me by throwing wildflowers over the fence...

Wonderful pictures Joyce! I love buffalo. We have a wildlife refuge not far from us and my favorite day trip is to spend the day there. They have wild buffalo, longhorns, prairie dogs and all kinds of wild critters. Here's a picture of one of the herds with their calves.

and a longhorn calf..

and the comic relief..

They have a huge lotus pond with the native yellow lotus

Cool pix Kay! O0
They have Scottish Longhorns about 5 miles east of the Bison Ranch.
I tried to stop and take pix, but they were no where to be seen.
Maybe out on another pasture far from the road.

What awesome pics you two!  There is a small buffalo herd about 1/2 mile from me...I noted the heavy duty fence Joyce and the cement hay rack...once a buffalo decides he wants to go somewhere, not much is going to stop him (8:-)  The babies are so cute and orangey, this herd seems so mild mannered--nothing seems to get them riled up.  People are always pulling off the road to watch them.  My DH gets Varmint Hunter magazine, he thinks the prairie dogs would be fair game.  I DON'T agree &-)

I agree Joyce, but then I don't know how people shoot fox, coyotes, lynx, mountain lions, etc.  I know I'll probably rile a few people up about that, but I couldn't shoot anything just for sport.  Now if my family was hungry....I guess I'd have to try :o
