Cats in the garden
« on: June 04, 2008, 08:45:15 AM »
Our two cats love to follow me around when I work in the gardens. When we first got Jack, Scearmer chased him away and wouldn't have anything to do with him, but now they are always together. Screamer is a very good hunter and will at times bring Jack extra mice.

Jack just hanging out

Jack hiding in the orchid pots

This one I call "Les chasseurs aux repos" They had just come back from hunting mice in the greenhouse.

Two friends greeting each other

Screamer sitting on her  favourite rock by the smaller pond. She's is a very small cat but definately the alpha animal around here.

And finally Jack getting a drink from his favourite drinking fountain.

Lucky cats!!  They're beautiful.  Love that last photo.

I suppose if I had cats they'd be fine in my yard but to have all the neighbors cats come through...not so fun.  They come through and leave their treasures (kills and rots) and packages (why do I get to do toilet duty).

So when I happen to have a water hose in my hand and I see a cat  {:-P;;

Wonderful photos!!!  Huggles to you kitties o(:-)  Our barn cat, Gabriel, has deicided that he likes the indoors more than the outdoors, so he isn't out in the garden too often these days.  Sometimes.  But you can almost read his mind...it's so hot out here.  He likes to sit on the big rocks by the pond and watch the fishies though.

Nice photos. I miss having my cats outside. But we lost a few to traffic so now they are indoor cats only. My MIL has 2 tuxedo kitties One of whom crosses the street to visit us. So I get to garden with him!

BEAUTIFUL shots...as I am partial to black cats. o(:-)
Your Jack looks like my Alley, and your black looks like my Selkie. ::)

A garden without cats....so lonely! :(

Your cat photos are so expressive--I love them!  I love Tuxedo cats, haven't had any in my litters of barn cats for a long time and no black ones either  :-\  But I love all cats.

And Joyce is so right:  a garden/pond without cats is very lonely!  Cats, children, birds, flowers, fish--a taste of heaven  o(:-)

Thanks! We do love our animals and they are very spoilt and happy. In fact the young lady who gave us Jack last summer wanted him to come live here because she thought he would be so happy here. He's a city boy though so we make sure he comes in at night even if it means staying up until the wee hours of the morning when he's finished chasing moths etc. Screamer found us. She was probably from the one of the barns around here. She's very aware of coyotes etc and does occasionaly stay out at night even though I don't sleep well when she does.

Aww, cute kitties.   o(:-)  Our smallest cat, the only female, rules the big male cats around here, too.

Beautiful kitties.  I also have a black cat.

We have a cat that will be 19 years old in August!  Her name is Pert and she has been a house cat for the last few years.  Recently, she has been wanting to go outside.  She is afraid of our dog and other two cats.  I have been putting them in the garage and letting her out around the pond in the morning.  She loves it.  I need to get some pics, but the poor thing looks so old and scrawny.

Very pretty kitties. I too have an all black kittie! We found her inside the boat one night about 1:am. Evidently where the boat was stored had more than a few cats having babies, and this one was still in the boat when I brought it home! I heard some screaming, sounded like a child! There she was when I pulled back the canvas. Two little green eyes as big as the moon! She was so hungary and small! She is still on the small side, but a wonderful loving kitty :)
