Blooming today (Coolshades...please look)
« on: July 08, 2008, 08:18:50 PM »
There were a couple things blooming today. First is Barbara Dobbins and a medium yellow hardy.

Edit: Here is Charlie's Choice. It's super cute!

Here's the nightbloomer I got from Kat. It's been a great bloomer!

And last is a tiny Laura Frase bloom under some lotus pads.

Oh, while I'm at it, here's a dessert I brought to a 4th of July party. It's 4 or 5 layers of white cake with coconut custard and the freshest berries on top. The raspberries were especially tasty! It didn't last long at the party, even with it being so big!

Oooh, that cake looks fantastic. Recipe please.

Perry's Baby Red is the bloom on my signature, has a lot more color than yours. Maybe it is a weird first bloom though.

Food for the eye as well as the stomach!  That Barbara Dobbins is so delicate looking, like porcelain.  Beautiful.  That can't be a Perry's Baby Red.  The petal shape is very different as well as the color.  Interesting flower, though.

He sent a few, so I was sure I got them mixed up. I bet he can ID it right away.

Thanks for all the comments! I'll post the recipe on the chat side tonight.

Beautiful & yummy!  Did he send you Charlie's Choice?  It doesn't look like PBR.

Very nice! I also agree that is not PBR.
The cake looks yummy.
It reminds me of a cake that was at a party I went to in Ireland a number of years ago.
It was made for the group of us visiting from the US.
It was by far the best cake I had ever eaten. Very, very rich and
real whipped cream and custards. No fake stuff. It was awesome. :)

Thanks, Gary! You sent two PBR and I checked both pots today. One definitely appears different than the other, so perhaps you gave me one of each. Sweet! Thanks for correcting my labeling!!!
