Hibiscus
« on: October 17, 2006, 04:53:29 PM »
I have this hibiscus and have saved some seeds.  If you'd like some, pm me with your name and address and I'll add you to the list.  I'll send out at least half a dozen seeds to everyone, more if there are enough (have lots).  I'll try to get them out later this week, but no promises, might be next week.

Teresa,
Are these difficult to grow in a container?  I've got three, more traditional hibiscus in containers...one red one that I've had for about 5 years and two peach braided trunk hibiscus that I just got this year.  All three have to come in for the winter, but I've got room for one more in my kitchen!!

Thank you,
Brian

This one goes dormant for me in the winter.  I'm not sure if it would stay growing for you in winter or not, but it shouldn't be too hard to keep it in a pot.  If you have a cold garage or basement where it got some protection from really cold freezes it should be fine.  PM me your address and I'll send you seeds and you can see what it does . . . . if you get more than one seed to grow, you can leave one out, keep one growing and put one in the garage next winter then report back!
