Shore fishing in San Diego, Jerry?

Jerry/anyone, we are headed down to a campground in Mission Bay next month for 2 weeks. Last year when we were at this park I noticed some of the people there had their fishing poles with them, and it got me thinking about trying out shore fishing this time around. I have been trying to do some research as I am a total newbe when it comes to ocean fishing.  Any advice, tips, etc. would be great!

Yes Greg, Mission Bay is great.  I am sure there must be rentals there.  Kayak fishing is popular there. many species are available
