My "Lotus" tub was pretty beat up.  Even the net was stripped.  Why the net? :'(
took me an hour to replant and clean up.  The water was really muddy.
The pond was unscathed.  Makes no sense.

How shocking!  >:( Did you have fish in the pot?  Was the net in or next to the pot?  Whatever was in there, it was heavy.

There is one that hangs out at the school nearby.
He did leave the pond alone.  There were Mosquito fish in the tub.  Pretty tiny.
I did re plant. Also a banana from the Skippy. bananas LOVE Skippy! o(:-)

All my small tubs and kiddie pools use to have fish to prevent mosquitoes but the  >:(- raccoons dumped all the plants, lilies include, and ate all the fish.  Had to get rid of small tubs and pools.  That's why I have a new DEEP lily pond now  @O@

I'm glad you were able to set up your plants again.  What a sight to wake up to though.  >:(-

That is what my lovely destroyed varigated taros now look like due to raccoons going after mosquito fish in tubs that size.  Hope your plants recover.

I have back-up plants.  So it looks ok. The others will recover in the greenhouse.
I placed a "WANTED" ad on Craig'e list.  I need a trap.
Here it is all redone and a new banana.

I responded to an ad on craig's list.  It was local.  His trap looked good in the photo but cost the same as Amazon's I can avoid the frt at Amazon. At Amazon one is secure.
I told the seller what I stated above. I asked if he could sell it for less.
I got a nasty rude letter calling me stupid and worse.
he said it was people like me that ruined E Bay and Craig's list!

I told him I get offers all the time (Massive Garage clean out) some I accept others I reject by saying " No thank you."
He replied but was even more rude. Maybe he should join our site?

Addendum:
A very lovely girl came from the local university. She wanted to buy my Dehydrator.  I listed it at $60.00 planning to accept $50.00.  "She said I'll take it."  I asked her is she was going to offer me less, she said" NO the price is fine." then handed me three twenty dollar bills.  I gave her back $10.00
She had trouble with the concept.  But did say thank you.

I've gotten rude people to respond to my Craigslist ads, too, & when I say no to a lower offer folks get offended.  Some people I just won't respond to at all if their initial contact email is wonky.  That was very nice of you to lower your price for her & she sounds like the type of person we all would prefer to deal with.  Good luck finding the trap you want.

Sorry about your plants.  Why the net?...maybe a puppy?  I keep my own dog confined because I don't want to clean up her mess.  She is a nice dog...but I want to know where she is...and no poop to step in either.

Yhr racoons are busy in the corn fields here right now.  They like corn on the cob too.  ::)

I feel your pain.

Raccoons have done that to my barrel ponds too. Anything with water in it they get into. I bought some five dollar tubs to put divisions in to grow them up for sale or trade and they ripped them all apart. No fish, frogs, tadpoles or snails in there. Nothing but bare plastic and potted plants. All of my container ponds were cleaned out and redone this year and now all of them have mud, gravel and gunk on the bottom again.

iF THERE WAS ANY KIND OF DEAD FISH SMELL OR SOMETHING STINKY THAT YOU NETTED OUT OF THE POND STILL STUCK TO THE NET  oops, caps lock...was using my landCAD software: on caps lock all the time...
anyway, any remaining smell on the net would attract raccoons. Even fish food oil.  8)

I think the raccoons used your net as a bounce to get in and out of the pot.  Maybe after it ate all your fish, got too heavy on the way out and busted the net.  lol

Why the net?  Cats love to scratch their claws in medium like that.

Jerry - re the comment about rude people on AP... I don't think we have that as an issue here.  Every once in a while someone reads something wrong, but, on the whole, I think we have a darned nice, kind, generous, supportive, friendly group.  I find it quite pleasant here, where as many other sites are not nearly as comfortable.

Now, more on rude people... I have recently had people ask me to reduce my prices for my work (I hang wallpaper for a living).  I NEVER do that.  It's tempting, because it's better to make less $ than no $.  But I have a policy to NEVER do it.  Not fair to me, not fair to my other customers who did pay full price, and it effects my attitude while working - why should I bust my butt to do a good job if I'm not making a fair wage, and if the people don't respect me or my work?  Besides, it's virtually always the people who are well-to-do who ask for a discount.  Working class people seldom do.

Now, I'm talking about labor, and my living.  As far as selling items or things, that's a different story.  Especially with used things.  Bartering is part of the game.  But, if the seller says "no," then one must be polite and either agree to pay the price, or politely go elsewhere.

Julles I did not mean to imply we had a rudeness problem here.  We have had a few bad apples in the past, but they are long gone.
I believe we have some of the finest folks in the world here.  o(:-) If I did not believe that, I'd be gone.

Looks like a lab or golden having fun. I've seen coons in Louisiana that were fairly large but not large enough to move your pots. My iris bed way whacked by my golden and had to be redone. Most people are nice but do NOT cross the MOPTOP Lovers Of America.
