Johns,
I am also an old father with trial and error and some failure as a teacher.
First of all, he is 21, took a semester off of school. (I'lll stop there
)
He has been doing all of the yard / bark for spring and does have an eye for beauty. He has spread 10 yds and prepared all of the beds first, so I do trust his judgement on how things should look. there is about 1/2 yrd left for around this pond.
His waterfall would be very good looking, but would leak. I explained that to him, but he doesn't get it, so like John's advice, I told him to getr done, and that I'm sure it will be very nice when he is done. He now see's it as a daunting task.
After a few more conversations, I think that he realizes that my first hand knowledge about leaking might just be right, so he's thinking that this will be a father and son project.
I've told him more than once, that the reason that I know about leaking waterfalls, is due to FAILURE!, and that I've rebuilt that falls more times than I care to think about.
So, if this is going to be a father and son project, he will have to cave to us doing it my way with his input.
And I always give him the praise that he deserves, BUT, when he makes more work for me, I also let him know that.
I'll finish this story with pics when we are done.
Steve
