That's just gorgeous . . . . do the mature leaves maintain the color or fade to green?

Teresa, The leaves always have a white border, with a bit of a pink flush to the edges.
Even in the heat of the summer. The new growth is more limey green as you can see, with more pink tones. Some leaves have a LOT more white and pink variegation that others.

Someday I'll have a japanese maple.
If I put everything that you grow that I like on my want list, I'd have to start selling my toys.
Ain't gonna happen.

Don't even get me going on those 3 wheelers.
About 3 years ago I was going to buy one, and was really into it. found alot of companies that make and sell them, including a build it yourself one. I found one about 10 miles from home but it needed so much work, and I don't have time to do what I want to do now, so couldn't spend the time fixing this one up.
I'd still love to have one to comute to work and for around town in the winter though.
My problem? $$$

Excuse me, but what about us women?
We like toys too.
Especially T-Rex toys.
It's not silly.
I am trying to convince my Oncologist that I need a T-Rex 'prescribed' to reverse the effects of Chemo and Radiation therapy, you know, so I can write it off as a medical expense.
For some reason he is not going for it.

John,
silly as "T-Rex"
... well, that thinking is just ----------silly
Why do you have to be 19 to want new toys?
hell, I'm 60 and I'm always getting new toys.
Well, of course you gals deserve your share of the toys!!!!
Don't forget---------
He who has the most toys wins

this is the build it yourself one featured back in Mechanics Illustrated years ago. It's still available, gas or electric.
the one I found near home was like this one, but needed a lot of body work = many hours, not for me. I was bummed :'(

I'm 0 for 2 with Japanese Maples.
I really like their look, especially the leaf color of the one above.
I guess I'll just have to be happy with my Abutilons that I have had success growing. They're not Japanese Maples but they are the best I can do......

Joyce is it "butterly" or the ButterFly? I love the japanese maples. I have a bunch in pots. I'll have to go see what they are doing and try and take some fall pictures of them
