going to start early for winter

Going to shut down the above ground pond this weekend. Will bag he lilies and remove the pump but not drain and cover just yet. All around poor performance this year for blooms. Mostly cool summer with only a couple stetches of "warmer" days that would be fleeting at best. Didn't get above 40C once this year and normally we hit that a few times. At this rate any kind of gardening will be a waste of time in a few years. got a less than nice corn crop too with the lack of heat.

Interesting.
Have you investigated the various hybrids of corn? Surely they have already developed a cooler climate corn?

No, I don't investigate corn. Just know from past experience that it likes heat to be the best. What we got tasted good, but just didn't get much of it.
