Think Pink!
« on: October 05, 2008, 08:54:56 AM »
Duh - stupid and out of touch me - this is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

I noticed only because a lot of places in town are having "Think Pink" specials. If you get your hair done, they will add a pink extension for $10 - and the money goes to Breast Cancer prevention.
If you have your nails done - use pink polish, and they will pay half the cost to Breast Cancer prevention.
Get pink doughnuts for b'fast - and they pay a portion to Breast Cancer Prevention.
Discounts for stuff you wouldn't have purchased, and benefits to stuff you would have bought anyway...  o(:-)

Ya' know... I always thought I look good in pink.  @O@

Pink's my favorite color!   :2thumbs:

If anyone hasn't tried Panera's Breast Cancer Pink Ribbon shaped Bagels, you HAVE to try one!
They only have them the month of October, so if you love 'em as much as I do, buy a couple dozen and freeze 'em!  8)

Thanks Savannah for posting this!  :worship:

Joyce, remember the pink Keds from, was it last year or a couple years ago? I hardly ever wear them so they look nice yet. I like to wear them with a pink top and white jeans.

I have a chocolate candy ribbon mold. A neighbor asked me to make some up for a special bunch of treat bags she's doing for a group of ladies who just did a "race for the cure".  Well I guess they don't look very pink. They weren't peach. Must be the computer. The long pink lacey things on the left are lace machine embroidered lady's bracelets.

And OH, did I say, I did machine embroidery on 39 T-shirts that she sold to raise money for the cause. I got so sick of doing shirts!!! There are still 50 sitting here and I can't bear to think about them.

Jamie commandeered my pink Keds cuz she grew out of her size 6s, now wears my 8s.  ::)
She wears hers with jeans and white tops too.  :)
She is so 'INTO' breast cancer awareness that this month she asked me to buy her 100 Pink Ribbon Pencils at Staples so she could hand them out to her classmates and teachers.  O0

Those lace bracelets would make excelllent bookmarks too. You could put a pink crystal charm and or tassle on each end. :)

At a recent dinner for Breast Cancer Awareness, they must've had those same molds, cuz the butter came shaped like a pink ribbon. 8)

I had so many Breast Cancer Tshirts given to me, during walks, guest speaker gifts, etc, etc, I had to give some away to the Parish Outreach when we moved.
I needed a whole chest just to store them! So they went to the Parish Outreach and were sold for $1 each...but now more people are wearing them: more awareness!
