Downloading a progran from Craig's List

Not a whiz here, but it soinds a bit shady.  A 99.00 program for as low as $11.00 ???
If it sounds to good to be true..........
What's the deal?

It is an illegal copy or it just won't download.

Have read tons of threads on the eBay message boards about downloads that don't work. And, PayPal offers NO protection on them.

That is very true when it comes to buying things over the internet. You would not believe all the people who disregard it though and lose tons of money on eBay. People who think they can buy a $500 Coach purse from a seller in China for $50. It happens daily.

LeeAnn, I got in trouble for purchasing "pirated" sewing machine designs from Ebay. But this old lady didn't know there were laws about copying them or selling them. For instance, after I purchase a valid design from a valid dealer, I may not sell it or even give it away. If I were to sell my machine and leave the designs on it that I'm working on right now, that would be wrong too.

I asked how I could protect myself in the future. I was told to ask the seller if the design had been copyrited and if they answer it was I was to print out the response, label it as to which design it covered and keep it, in case I was ever accused of making an inappropriate purchase of that design.

That was an honest mistake.

I'm sure you would not try to buy a $3000 sewing machine from a seller with no pictures other than those copied off the manufacturer's website by sending cash Western Union. I tried to help someone with this situation once, she refused to believe me and others that she was being ripped off because the seller responded to emails and questions so nicely. The seller had no feedback. I was jumped on by people because "everyone has to start somewhere" The woman lost her money.
