Trying to use Bamboo on canopy
« on: November 13, 2008, 04:13:09 PM »
If only the poles were straighter!  Perhaps the wind here causes the bend.  I try to be selective.
I will add more poles, and do some decorative lashings, then polyurathane on top of the lashings will hide the cable ties and wire.
It will look better,I hope!  That gap on the verticle post will be gone. (first photo)  I must measure more !! @O@

You are so industrious, Jerry!  First the carport....please tell me you had help...and now the designer touch.  I like the bamboo cover-up.  O0

My neighbor and pool playing buddy had his niece in from Las Vegas.  Her husband saw me and did help, a lot.  Raising the roof took 3 pairs of hands!  We did the roof first.  Much easier.
I needed to saw some of the uprights. Misha not only took over the hacksaw but using one piece as a pattern was not enough.  He measured all the posts twice!  I confess it's more than I wou;d have done.  He can fix anything, even computers.  His great skills are put to use on several houses he owns in Las Vegas. He and Heather are also the parents of an absolutely amazing child!

you know what they say, Jerry: Measure twice...cut once!   :)
I'm broke and can't afford to pay attention, so you might have to lend me an ear.
