Oh, look at all those decorative pods.  Better get someone in there cutting them back for all the seed.

If you are interested, perhaps we could start a lotus seed bank if you didn't have any other plans with all that seed.

Cheers,
Sean

You know Sean, I was thinking the same thing. I was wondering if they are all the same variety? What variety? Think of all of the lotus blooming possibilities for the future.  {:-P;;

They are all Mrs. Perry D. Slocum.
And yes, I do plan on harvesting them, next semi-warm day we have.
Probably on a weekend cuz I need help from my hubby.
I have a little duckboat I am going to use this time.
Most of the seed pods are sterile...no viable seeds.
I promised most of the pods to my friend Nancy who owns the Florist Shop
right next to our office down on the main road.
Peace to all  ... Joyce

They look kinda sad and forlorn!

When you harvest them, a lot of seeds will probably just fall out . . . .

Teresa, a lot already have...plus there is a bird that has been perching on the pods,
yanking the seeds out with their beaks. Some kind of plain looking finch.
Plus a LOT of the seeds are skinny hollow 'sterile' seeds.

Let me know if you want a box of pods...they are VERY lightweight.
Fun to decorate with! (8:-)

Aaawww, how sad.  I know all good things must come to an end.  Its just kind of gets you blah, looking at it and waiting for warm weather again.  Hurry Spring!
