Lotus Saved ! Photo and new pads are up
« on: October 27, 2006, 02:52:14 PM »
The Lotus that broke free of it's container was a wreck. No pads at all. {nono}
I divided and re potted them Planing to keep them in the cold greenhoust til spring.
The buggers looked so happy (slow release fertilizer) I placed them in the pond. Viola! see three pads at the surface after just a few days.  The weather has been glorious with the exceptio of wind.
We will be under 50 at night, but in the meantime let nature take it's course!
The tiny pad is at the left, next to the turtle haul-out rock
The other plant was for the Terrestrial forum.  ::)

Glad it survived it's ordeal and sure hope it makes it thru winter for you!  They really are a pretty sturdy plant.

I don't expect it to get through the winter, unless "El Nino" keeps us warmer than normal
