Tea Topic No. 2 - Upset Your Stomach?
« on: February 06, 2009, 05:53:36 AM »
I've noticed that with certain teas, if I drink them on an empty stomach, they can really cause my tummy to roll, almost to the point of nausea.

Has that happened to anyone else?

Yes, tea will sometimes really set my stomach on fire. Just about any tea will do it but if I drink Sleepytime before bed I will suffer. I really like it but it will do a number on my stomach.

Tea is actually hard on your stomach. If you have acid reflux, etc. tea can really aggravate it. I have acid reflux and tea will sometimes really get my heartburn going.
Seems to be mostly when I drink hot tea.

Yes, I have actually thrown up tea on an empty stomach, had to run to the john at a restaurant. I now try to eat something before drinking my iced tea.

Coffee doesn't do the same thing to me though it is worse on my acid reflux.
