dkoinut... Pic of 50 g ST?
« on: March 26, 2009, 06:37:02 PM »
Hi ...  Just wondering if you have a picture or drawing of how you made your 50 gallon Settling Tank....  Been on my mind to do this for a few years and now I'm ready...  I have an external Sequence pump and Savio skimmer but am thinking of plumbing my retro BD to the settling tank ...

Thanks for any help...

Dave

Hi Dave. I draw one and try to post it. What size pipe will you be using from your bottom drain and how large is your pond?

Hello dkoinut,

Can you please post a picture of your pond that this equipment is installed on. I'm curious to see what it looks like.
I am blessed, that I get to work outside and build beautiful ponds, waterfalls, and streams, everyday.

Howdy...  I've got 2 inch PVC right now, but if I do this I'll probably go larger...  Pond is 4500 gallons or so, 32 X 14 at the longest and widest...

Thanks...  I wish I knew how to enlarge your drawing....

It is too small to enlarge.
All text and details are only 1 or 2 pixels high.
Not enough information to upsize at this point.
If you email the original file to me I can correct the size for the forum and post it.

Here is a redo of the original file.
I had to redo all of the text.
I think I got all of the words correct.

Where does this barrel sit? And you showed the cleanout on the bottom but how do you clean it out down there?

Thank you Tim. Ester. Water comes into the barrel thru the bottom from the pond. This barrel would be in the ground and only the top 3 inches would be above the highest pond water level. It can be installed where ever desired and can even be covered for safety. My settling chamber is over 870 gallons and also has a bottom drain that goes to a similar barrel so I can recycle the waste to my garden foor free fertilizer and reuse of waste water.

finpond. I'd suggest 4 inch for your bottom drains, and for a pond that large you would probably need 3 of them as well as 3 s/chambers if you used barrels.
