Tuber question

How do you jumpstart the tropical tubers to get them to grow?  I collected some from each container. There is no order and I have no I idea what they are until they sprout.  I took a twelve pack that some plants came in. I covered the holes and added soil. Then I pushed each tuber in each space. I placed them elevated in the lily pond so that just a few inches covered the plants. I am hoping that they srout since I screwed up and neglected them so badly.  I have another batch to plant. I hope they are not all night bloomers

What Zone are u in? You'll be able to tell right away after they sprout if they are nightbloomers

Yes I know the night bloomers have pointed leaves correct?

Place a tuber in a sandwich ziplock bag, fill the bag with pond water about 1/4 of the way, and allow it to float in your pond.  Of course, temps outside should average above the 70's during the day.  Give it a week or two and you'll see some sprouts.

Or you can have a large container lined w some good mud slowly filled so it doesn't get cloudy and just stick them in the mud under a grow light to keep the water warm. If you have only a few diff tubers as they grow out you'll be able to tell what they are as they grow, then when they grow out enough you can wiggle them out of the dirt and pot them up. I posted a tutorial thing if you want to keep the tuber growing another plant  so you'll have some to trade or extra lilies. Yup most night bloomers have the pointed leaves and linger stems from the tuber before roots grow I call little runners, I have seen day bloomers do it too though
