IMHO, politics in the USA has become a big joke.  No one stands for ideals anymore.  It's just a big football game.  The Democrats vs. Republicans.  We need politicians with a backbone.  Someone brave enough to break from the current broken Washington leadership.  It's hysterical when you sit back and watch it.  Too bad the consequences are so serious.

We have a friend who is a merchant marine, and is an engineer in the engine room (huge). He transports oil, and says they just cant have firearms on their giant tanker of flammable oil. Kinda makes sense, but if I was the owner of a shipping company I'd do anything I could to protect my product, employees, and ship from thieves.

I think Obama looks adorable as a pirate. Captain Jack Obama. Not really that far fetched, really.

Yes it is okay to post those political opinions.  At least we thought so.  Sometimes it can get to spirited.  maybe the idea should be revisited?

Well, the original post has spurred 33 (now 34) replies, and got some hearts pumping and blood racing, opposing opinions written, and no bones were broken, and I don't think anyone was insulted. 

If that isn't a primary indicator of the greatest country on Earth, what is?

Sorry, Jerry- the Obama Pirate pic is much sexier than that.... and I don't even like him. 

Gotta admit that he is a very good looking Prez... Probably the best looking Prez we've had since Reagan.

No need to tax the pirates, tax the company that makes the pirate ships, then re-distribute the tax money to the pirates so that they will no longer have be pirates....
