how do I tell the difference between koi and goldfish?

I bought a new fish {:-P;; (rather LARGE about 6 inches long) he is GORGEOUS!!!  o(:-)  But I was looking for a goldfish. Now I'm wondering if it's a koi...  How can I tell the difference?

Koi have barbels, goldfish do not.

 o(:-) he is the loveliest shade of red orange. I named him big red. He is slow and relaxed and calm... a big teddy bear! (well big to me lol)

Well The good news is I will be getting a pump, more plants, new fish, and I get paid today so I will be out shopping for a digital cam and every one will get to see all my progress!!!! But the bad news is that the patio pond that I made for my mother is not working out  :'( so I will be taking all her stuff home today witch will more than likely keep me too busy to snap many good pictures if I find a good cam for a good deal. -sigh- I will be posting pictures SOOON!!!!
