I lied

Remember when I said I wasn't ever getting any more Koi because all 10 of mine died last winter, the largest being 22" and 4 pounds? Well when I told my DH that the pond had lost it's appeal since my beauties were gone, he said, "Well you might as well get some Koi then." So I did what I was told today and got two. The place I bought them has a whole bunch of butterfly but they are in quarantine until the 21st. I think I'm going to put it on my calendar.
Cindi bought me 3 little Shibunkins but I haven't seen then since they were put in the pond Saturday. Then today as I was walking past the pond I heard a loud splash and saw a good sized frog jump in. RAHHHH I have a frog already. Then a neighbor brought a painted turtle over Saturday. His shell is about 5" from stem to stern. I suspect he won't stay long.

Esther, as far as I'm concerned, a pond isn't a pond without a few koi. I do hope you decide to get some. They're just so full of color, and you gotta love that raucous personality!

Yep once you have them it's hard not to want more, they are very nice....that Orange one is looking a little plump, maybe a female??? Go for it and get the butterfly....just don't overstock as you know how big they can get
Hope you have a much better winter.

Marla, that is exactly what I said about the orange one. Within 24 hours, some of the goldfish were following that one around with their nose up her rear, acting pretty interested.
