What plant is this? Is it good for my pond?
« on: May 23, 2009, 04:17:12 PM »
I went to this place that sells pond plants and other supplies, I could swear I saw several of these plants in pots for sale in their ponds. I thought HEY I have that same plant growing like weeds under a fountain in my front yard. So I'm thinking dig some up, replant in pots and place in pond. What do you think?

yep they are cannas and they can be grown in the pond..but, if your starting out with rhizomes you want to get them growing first before  you put them in the pond...if your starting out with plants...just plop em' in...Any canna will grow in the pond-but, like wet feet/dry ankles...so make sure the plants soil level is either above water level or just right at it...
