and then some....When I have my camera I take advantage of the time I can take photos of my garden babies so can look back in following years to see how well the babies have grown.  I know...obsessive, but my kids and DH still keep me.  :D

I hope you enjoyed this little walk in my garden.  I sure do!  ;)

Wow Annette, the walk thru your garden was fantastic!  O0  I loved the poppy pics, beautiful colors.  I am envious of the types of flowers you can grow in California, many tropical beauties!  Thanks for letting me look!

Wow it would be nice to have beautiful flowers like that right now many are coming up here right now but nothing is blooming like that.  I loved the pooy pics too, beautiful flower.

Thanks LuAnn and Monica!  IF I don't have to mess with replanting you know it's going in the garden.  Some plants are self seeders, pros and cons.  Pro - more plants and they seem to be stronger than the ones I plant; cons - just like picking weeds and lots of crowd control.

When it gets hotter, and it does, a lot of the pretty blooms go away until the weather cools down before winter.

Glad you enjoyed!

what a great walk with all the neat plants.   I noticed you do alot of hangin pots.  I have totally no success with them or containers.  every year I start out with beautiful combinations and they are great for a few weeks then no matter what I do they jsut arent pretty.  I bought the good complete potting soil mix where your suppose to do nothin but water and it doesnt seem to matter.  Is there a trick to hangin baskets and containers.  How often do you water.

Most of my basket are in semi shade with sun only in the morning or late afternoon, no matter the plant.  Even my mini hanging roses do very well like this.  I have a row of twisted junipers along the south east side of my property and they help shade the garden and any potted plants from sizzling sun.  8)
I think the heat is the killer of most potted plants, aside from over watering.  During the warm months potted plants are on a drip system spray and watered for 5 minutes a day.  More often if there are many scorching hot days.

LeeAnne sometimes when it gets unbearably hot for days on end, my plants suffer just as much as me if not more  :D  I love what the weather people term as May gloom and June gloom.  Pretty chilly in the mornings and evenings but hot during the rest of the time when the sun is a blazin'.  You get to grow many beautiful and delicate petaled plants that would survive our weather here.

Thanks Ponderer!

 Smiley

Yes it's a buddleia but I'm not sure of the proper name. The flowers are a dark purple almost deep blue.

JW I wish I could send some heat your way  :D

Yeah Jerry but you can handle the heat!  When it's warm here it's a lot warmer up your way, most of the time.  Is it a 2 hour drive between Laguna Beach and Northridge?  The difference a few miles makes.  :o

Thank you Holldoll for identifying the nasty bug.  The marking is so shaped like a '?'... Suppose anyone would want to buy it off ebay?  lol
