Looking for Egeria Densa (Brazilian Elodea) for postage
« on: May 12, 2009, 10:46:21 AM »
I'm looking for this type of Anacharis I guess it is also called. Brazilian elodea is a very bushy plant with dense whorls of bright green leaves (except when growing with insufficient light, in which case the leaves are widely spaced). Brazilian elodea usually has four leaves per whorl (arranged around the stem) and each leaf is at least 2 cm long. If you have a lot and would like to send it to me for postage I would appreciate it very much. Thank you. Janice

I normally would have plenty but our unusually long cold weather seems to have really set it back. When I actually  at it went to pull it up for you, I barely have any growing. I'm sorry, I said I would send some but I can't.  :-\

Try looking at Petco or Petsmart, they call it goldfish grass there. That is where I bought mine originally.

Thanks LeeAnne, I ordered some from Crystal Creek Pond Supply (free shipping) and I do hope it arrives as legally I don't think they are supposed to ship to Washington. I ordered the Canadian Egeria (Anacharis) as it is supposed to be hardier than the Brazilian stuff. They said if the state authorities {-)  confiscate it on the way it's my tough luck. So I ordered the least amt as a trial run. Hope I don't end up in jail
