I can find Safer everything but catepillar.
I did get a pint of Bonide Thuricide bacillus thuringiensis Kurstaki 15% concentrate, which may be a lifetime-times-ten supply. Safer concentrate is 1.76% BT.
Neither product addresses use on water lilies or in watergardens, however under Environmental Hazards part of label, Bonide specifically states "Do not apply to water." That may be due to the fact that BT may harm the nymphs of some beneficial insects. Or maybe it was just a CYA statement.
Bonide instructions: 1/2-4 teaspoons per gallon. Apply weekly. Do not store diluted spray more than 12 hours.
Safer instructions: 1-4 teaspoons per gallon. Apply late in day or on cloudy day as it degrades in sunlight.
Surprising that one uses the same amount of product with much weaker Safer as with Bonide.
If anyone wants to do the math, Safer advertises has 32 billion BTK spores per gallon; Bonide advertises 6 million per mg. Bonide asterisk's that to say spore measurements are not Federally standardized.
Net net I will mix up the weakest solution of 1/2t per gallon (or since it is supposed to be used so quickly, 1/8t per pint). I'll let you know if the three goldies in the lilypond look distressed. (But since they are swimming amidst BT dunk donuts now, I think they'll be fine.)
