Lotus
« on: November 25, 2009, 09:47:14 PM »
Does anyone have Lotus seeds? I would like to try again to start some from seed. I have good success at sprouting and getting them to first leaves! then they just die! just like that :'(  do not know what the heck. Thanks to a wonderful person here I now have some plants growing o(:-). I hope they make it through winter. got them covered and secure, I hope. Time will tell. So now I would like to try them from seed "again". Can trade for Postage or other plants ?????
I thought that I was wrong once,But I was mistaken. hehehehehe

Hi PondLady,

I just checked tricker.com, and they don't have any seeds. I thought they did, or maybe I didn't look hard enough. If I come across a source, I will let you know. o(

Happy ponding,

Hi,

Me again. I found a online source at:

http://pondplants.biz/index.php/products/lotus-seeds--assorted

Hopefully the price is right, and they will grow for you. My pond is way to small for lotus, but if my pond was much bigger I would have mostly hardy lotus. o(

Happy ponding,

Hi pondlady;
I can send you ;
Nelumbo Nucifera White Pleanum (1 pcs)
Nelumbo Nucifera  Pink Pleanum (1 pcs)
Nelumbo Komarovii (Pink) (4 pcs)

The names and colors are given to me by my supplier, sorry if they come out different. I cannot post you any pics because mine are too young and did not flower yet but you can Google.

Postage does not hurt me, I had send before to another friend in USA and it took 10-12 days to reach there.

May be later you can send me any seeds of  aquatics or any other but it is not so important.
If you want pls PM to me your postal address.

Thanks a lot pondlady, your seeds arrived today in good condition and made me happy. It took 16 days so I hope in 3-4 days you will receive my envelope also and hope they will arrive also in good condition.
Now I have to search them from the net on germination etc.

Tugo, you can find a lot of info on starting lotus seeds at Victoria-Adventures.org. Just look under "lotus".

Don't be sorry, in the worst case you can get new ones from me. I don't know your post system there but since you PM to me that they got it on the wrong truck, some days ago, how it works? Does the post office first inform the people that they have a mail and they will send it?
May be it is because of the Christmas mass and you will be getting in some days.

I wish the post were informative as that. But no they are not going to say a thing to us when there mess up.  Our local post lady told us the mail would be a day or two late. :o. I hope its just the overload of the holidays that is holding things up. I hope to get them next week! if not I will let you know. Its not any fault of yours it did not get here. So kind of you to send them in the first place. Hugs for your kindness. :hug: Gayla

 :'( Next week is here but the seeds are not.  >:(- >:(- >:(- >:(-  Postal service sucks here in the US. They do not seem to care if your package gets lost or damaged as long as they get there postage money. How sad is that? Pay them extra and "then" they make the effort to get it there safe and sound???????????
