Every time I open a MS Office document it is virus scanned. As I open many daily, this is a huge waste of time. These were all created on my computer and can't possibly be infected.

It is driving me crazy.

I can't find anything about it in menus or faqs.

Thank you but it did not work. I get an error message when I try that.  Load Libray Failed etc.

When I opening an Excel document it says "requesting virus scan" on the bottom

I thought it was MS Office requesting the scan but someone told me it had to be my antivirus program, I am not so sure.

I deleted the extension file they talked about, I could not get it to open and give me the option to turn it off so I just deleted it and it worked.

LeeAnne
Did you try the second part of response 5? from the command prompt instead of via "run"?

"If you have problems with this do it from a command window in the directory where AVG was installed... usually c:\program files\grisoft\AVG7."

Good Luck

yes, I still could not get the screen with the checkbox.

I am using Win98SE and an older version of Grisoft so maybe that is what the difference is.

I need a new computer.
