i am not good on computer. i type with three fingers, one for letters, one for backspace [?], and one for delete . i know how to retrieve email and to type something in and 'hit' search . post pictures--surely you jest , however, i might be able to find someone to do that . one pond is about 100x 500 that is in feet and approximate . our new ornamental pond is about 12x20 again in feet . we have 10 comets [started with 12 but blue heron got two plus a chipmunk that it promptly swished in pond and swallowed] plus two frogs that arrived on their own . oh, also a fish about 1-1/4 inches in length that also arrived on its own . large pond goes across about 6 lots plus one at end [lots are 110 feet across and pond doesn't go all the way across end two [i think] . other side of pond has trees then a road . 1/2 mile west road is rural and 1/2 mile east it's suburban and we live in a development that ,along with four others that abut one another, is about 1/2 mile on each side [forms a rough square ]. i lost my job about 8 years ago and moved here 6 years ago [2003] . i'm OLD but jog 3 miles or bike about 9 miles 6 days a week year round [ 90 degrees to minus 15 , not a misprint]. cut my lawn and sisters lawn each twice a week . have two friends which i see about a dozen times a year [a married couple] and they live about 1/4 mile from me [ i'm not extremely out going] . wife is out going and is in several groups ,bible classes , adult girl scout groups ,green hats , red hats, you get the picture she does lots of things and WE do nothing . that is probably more than is required and more than you want to know . synopsis: my wife is nice , i am not . . .peace

Glad to know you, 2Vets.  (I take it you have Corvettes??)   And thanks for telling about your ponds.  That large one - oh my!  And yes, if you have lost fish to herons, then you have something in common with many of us.   ;)

And, again yes, we are a nice bunch of folk here, and there's lots of information to be shared, and photos to be looked at.  Check out the main Pond Chat forum, too.

Hi 2Vettes. The scary part of what you said is that I totally understood what you meant. So I think you and your three fingers are going to fit right in. By the way, I use all 8 fingers and two thumbs. Now if I could just use my whole brain, I'd be all set. Welcome.

Go to your profile and fill in your location and zone if you know it. Right away I looked to see where you lived when I saw you were new.

Welcome aboard.

Your screen name could mean you are a husband/wife team of veterinarians or you own two corvettes but I'm guessing you both are veterans.  Now get those 3 fingers working and tell me if I am correct...  ;D

If it is Corvettes, my wife would love to see them. She would like to have a Corvette but had to settle for a Firebird with an LT 1 engine.
Happy ponding,

I'm a two finger typer myself but have gotten pretty fast at it. My spelling is also somewhat lacking so a lot of times I write what I'm going to say in Microsoft Word and use the spell cheacker then cut, copy and paste it here.

Download the Firefox browser.  It has built-in spell-check.  And you thought I was smart... lol

Wait there are spell checks that aren't connected to a browser. I have it and if I can find it, I'll tell you about it. I think either Jerry or Mikey told me about it.

It doesn't help if you have fat, gorilla fingers like mine that often depress two keys.

I understand completely, 2vetts!  We all have much to learn about these mysterious boxes!  But I would recommend Firefox for other reasons as well.  Anyone here using Explorer should give it a try.  Much less susceptible to bad stuff when surfing and lots of other benefits.  Get someone that knows just a little to download it for you and give it a try!
