It frosted here last night!
« on: October 01, 2009, 07:44:03 AM »
They were calling for frost last night, so I dug my rosemary out and potted her up and brought her in.   Hopefully I can keep her alive until it's time to put her back outside in the spring.  There was frost everywhere, except for under the trees and right up by the house.  My tender herbs made it through, like my basil, but it's not gonna be long before all my gardens will be bare.  It was down in the 30's here,,,,brrrrrrrrrrr,,,,but I haven't given in and turned the furnace on yet!!    ;)

They were warning about it here too but didn't quite make it. There seems to be a line about 15 miles north of here that gets more cold and different rain patterns.

Our house is 61 this morning so just put on two sweatshsirts. I refuse to turn on the heat just yet.

We've been in the 40's here at night and the 50's during the day. We've already built a few fires in the wood stove in the evenings............just small ones but still I hate to see the cold coming  :(.

I'm wishing really hard for some of the heat we have been getting during the day to go your way....

Got to go to the Huntington Library and Gardens, in San Marino, yesterday.  Just about melted in the heat, about 100* easily!  Ok I lied.  I did melt.  Unfortunately it all came back today.  :'(

NO Annette, you can keep your heat, as well as any Southern ponders who think they want to send heat and humidity up to Ohio!!  I love cool and cold weather.  I would not ever want to live with humid conditions year 'round.  I really love the changing of the seasons...it smells so good here with the leaves starting to change and the air is fresh and cool.....

A couple years ago I went to Md for my sisters graduation from the academy, it was later in the year, can't remember when, but it was about 80-something there and it snowed here in so cal!  My neighbors showed me pics when I got back and I couldn't believe it!
I'm broke and can't afford to pay attention, so you might have to lend me an ear.
