After having my computer problems, I got my new computer back and now the process to reinstall all my software.  I have learned (finally) to keep all my install disks and key codes in the SAME PLACE....as I have spent the last two days going through boxes looking for them all.

I decided to upgrade my graphics suite and was looking on ebay and on the mfr's site.  Ebay has great prices but I don't know if I trust them since the last time I didn't get what was advertised.  So I contacted Corel support to ask about people selling the product for so cheap and, long story short, I bought it directly from Corel and he discounted my software enough to give me free, expedited shipping!  So I'll get it in 1-2 days instead of a week or more...and I know I'll be getting what I expected.

Customer service is actually alive and well in the US sometimes.  Whodathunkit?

LOL!  I am the organized one in our family, however, I am not the puter guru in our family and therefore I have not organized the various start up disks or other software programs.  I need to do so though because when I do have to scrub my hard drive it is such a pain trying to find the software for my pc......

I've been hearing a lot of positive stuff about Windows 7.  A friend of a friend offered to purchase Win7 for us at his discounted manager's price.  We have three computers in the house so I ordered 3 Win7.  Only this week did I learn of the Win7 Upgrade Advisor download offered by Microsoft to determine if one's pc can work properly with Win7.......  Per the advisor it seems I will be wasting my money because our computers are too old and will require significant upgrades if we want to use the full capabilities of Win7.....     Live & learn.....

FYI....family pack of Win 7 is for 3 home computers...check into it if you end up going with it.

I'm going to wait until our company starts installing it.  I read that if you're happy with XP, stay with it.  If you have Vista, upgrade.

I have XP Pro and I'll stay with that for a while until I see a need to upgrade.  From what I read, support for XP will not be so good beyond 2012...so we have a couple years.
