My new toy
« on: November 18, 2009, 06:27:51 PM »
I purchased a 1966 Ford Mustang recently.  I've always wanted this car.  My mom had one when I was 5 or so and I remember being dragged all throughout Phoenix in that car.  She eventually sold it for $200.  Till this day, everyone in the family gives her a hard time about that decision.

I guess I'm trying to relive my childhood, but with more horsepower.   o(:-)

There's much to learn and more to do.  The cars runs like a dream and needs little work.  I'd like to rewire the stereo, change out the distributor and spark plugs, brakes, and paint.  Any advice?

Alfonzo, if you've done that kinda stuff before, do it yourself. What's wrong with the paint? It looks like it only needs a good, high end, detail job. I would recommend my wife but we don't live in Arizona. :)
Happy ponding,

That's a beautiful car...and I LOVE the color of it--all it needs is some 'shine'!   O0

Thanks everyone.  There are some spots where work has been done to the body.  The hood's vent was spray painted by can.  This will be my hobby for a few years and I plan to do all the work myself (except paint).  Never have I worked on cars before, but these are easy.  Not much to them and the parts are affordable.

The other day, I was driving home.  The car lost all electrical power.  The battery and alternator are brand new.  So, I switched the voltage regulator.  If that doesn't work, I'm taking the alternator to get checked by the business I bought from.
