Oh my, a bouquet of water lilies!  And they last a good long while, too.

WOW!  Beautiful!  She must be a very good friend!  I wouldn't cut my lily blooms for DH unless it was by accident  {:-P;;

Hey Michelle!

How long do the flowers last as bouquets and do they stay open? This is a really good idea....

howdy! long time no talk
the flowers usually last as long as they do with a pond, sometimes 5 days... you want to cut the flowers early in the morning, the earlier the better but already blooming ones are fine. if you get them while they are still closed for the night, their metabolism is slowed, so when you cut it while its still closed it has more energy. they keep open and blooming as long as its sunny.

i hear you can even drip white candle wax on an open flower to keep it from closing up if your determined to show someone who is comin by later what the flower looks like.

Beautiful bouquet! Thanks for the cutting tip as well- I knew to cut them in the morning but was never sure whether to cut before or after opening. Good tip!

Very pretty. O0

I've never had very good luck with cutting lily blooms. The flowers would always be wilted within a few hours of bringing them indoors. They never would reopen. :-\
