Two good music gigs coming up for me.

Next week I have been hired to play in the pit orchestra for the national tour of "A Chorus Line" in Hershey, PA.  Should be fun.

In April I have been hired to play in the back up band on stage for "The Temptations" in Gettysburg, PA.  I've played for them 15+ times - always a good time!

Sounds like a great time. My daughter just played at the winter concert. We're so amazed how this band director whipped them into such great shape. They played Malaguena and it sounded almost professional! Of course, the clarinets sounded the best... ;)

That is super, ReedMan.  I was just at the Ballet, and enjoyed their beautiful music, coming right out of the pit!

How adaptable you are, to play for both Broadway Musicals and Mowtown Music!

The pit orchestra is phenomenal! 

The fourth reed player is a friend of mine who plays the low reed book for "Wicked" on Broadway.  The third reed player is plays many Broadway shows. 

The bass trombone player is the Penn State trombone professor. 

Our lead trumpet player was Harry James' lead trumpet player.  The bass player plays in many groups in and around Philadelphia.

I wish they had more shows there to play . . .  :(

It sounds like you are quite experienced to be asked to play with people like you have mentioned. It must be fun to be able to play with professionals.

I'm 50 and have been a part-time professional musician since I was 16.  My masters degree is in woodwind performance and teaching. 

Most of my gigs are with the local players only; it's a treat to play with the NYC people that come down here.
