The creeping juniper is really nice.  Is that water poppy?  My fish ate all my poppy - like, IMMEDIATELY - and it never came back the next year.

Thanks for all the compliments....!

Yes, it's water poppy...the koi decided to eat a lot of it last year when I got it, but it wintered over and now I'm just waiting to see what it will do.

And no, I don't name my fish anymore.....'nuff said...  :'(

Fantastic pond, what I can see of it.  You have wetted my visual appetite and I want to see the entire pond, please send more pictures.  I have always had a special attraction to iris, and yours are beautiful.  Here in Pennsylvania we have several species of wild iris that grow along our streams, a blue variety and a yellow one.  I always looked forward to finding them in the spring.

Thank you so much.....so the first picture here is from last summer.  Obviously things are not the same since the cold took so much of it.  However, the 2nd picture was about 3 weeks ago so you can see that it is coming around.  Many different plants this time around.  I really miss the water hyacinth...I don't know how to replace it; nothing does as well as that....any suggestions?

Wow, beautiful!  So lush and inviting.  Question on the water hyacinth--why can't you get more when available?  Or is it now unavailable in southern states because of its invasiveness?

Very nice pics... I love that Iris color and the shape of your falls, especially the bottom falls. Nice fish, too. It looks like the little goldies are admiring their supreme leader. :)

Those plants in the row (if I am talking about the same thing) are basil plants...I'm trying herbs for the first time this year.  If you are talking about the picture from last year...those are Mexican Heather in the long bush across the front.

As for water hyacinth, they are not allowed here in Texas....But someone on this forum who shall remain nameless is giving me some....yeah!!!

Thanks for all your nice comments.

In the first picture, what kind are the water lily pads? They seem rather small?  I'm looking for something smaller and not huge growing to put in our smaller pond.

I can't answer for her, but it looks a little like floating hearts, a lily-like plant.  I have tons, can send you some if you'd like?  Take a peek online to see if you'd be interested - it does spread.

The first picture, the plants look to me like water poppy.  Not round like lilies and not heart-shaped, but more oval.  My fish ate every single bit of my poppy.

Snowflake (comes in white or yellow) has heart-shaped leaves, and stays pretty small.  It also will do OK in shady areas.

Would you like that in a lily or a marginal? :)

Here is a good site with floating plants on it. There are a couple I would love to have but I can not find them here at all. Mosaic Plant ,Star Grass  are a couple. as with any plant YOU have to control its growth. I used to have sweet flag and vergated sweet flag and a Taro, cant find them anywhere either. The water garden suppliers here have water lillys....I have water lilys up the tubes! Wish i could get rid of a few...sigh!
 Hope this helps you some.
