Anyone grow this?
I got some & thought it was full sun but a search yields differing recommendations. If you grow this where do you grows yours ... sun or shade?

I bought a small pot of 5 or 6 different kinds.

It prefers sun but will tolerate some shade. The varieties with more color in the leaves should get the most sun for the best color. That may be why you're getting the conflicting information.

I have lots of the tri-colored type planted on either side of the waterfall hill of my pond, in full all day sun and it loves it there!  With the early hot weather we've had recently, it's coming into full bloom already this year with lots of flowers!

I like this plant, but am warnig you that it grows everywhere. If you want your lawn to remain pristine don't grow it.

Yes I agree it can be quite invasive, but if you are growing it where it can't reach the lawn area it is quite beautiful as well.  It spreads by roots, so if there is a barrier that will work.  Or as I am doing, growing it on a hilltop and keeping it in check works as well.  When it starts to grow where I don't want it, I dig up that part making sure to get all the roots, and move it where it is more desirable.

Already made that mistake with mint. LOL
Hopefully ajuga will do ok in clay soil. May have to move the rock mulch though, we'll see.

It will do well in clay - we have very dense clay soil here and mine is in full flower this week.

Missa - I took some pictures of my ajuga for you today.

The other side

After all the rain we had in March, and then the very warm temperatures early this year, these plants are full of blooms and so cheerful!

I thought I'd update here with new pictures of my ajuga taken yesterday.  This is 2 weeks after my last pictures above - it just keep getting prettier and prettier!  So full and bright this year - I am loving it!

I love ajuga. I've never gotten it to grow that well for me but I think it is because DH smothers it with mulch. I do have some in the lawn ;) ......
