Any ideas on how to construct a lily pruning scissors from PVC pipe?

I made one and it works great. You use a piece of 1/2" and a piece of 1", cut the 1/2" piece about 6 or 8"longer for a handle, cut a notch 1 or 2" from the end of the 1", stick the 1/2" in the other and your done

i put a saw slit in end of broomstick and stuck a razor blade in it . find stem you want cut and pull as razor blade faces up toward operator .
