In 1975 the farm house where my inLaws lived was hit by a tornado.  It was hit from the east.

We were outside feeding bottle calves and saw it coming and left.  The red barn was completely demolished.  The chicken house was on the back porch.

Everything cloth in the house had to be washed.  I think my sisters and I did 35 loads at the laundrymat in town.

Howell, the devistation of even a small twister is scary.

 8)  When I was outside surveying the flowers, I looked to the east and saw this

Remember we only average about 18 inch of rain a year.

I've seen this creek running like this about 5 times in the 36 years I've lived here.  It is at least a foot lower than the bridge.  The bridge has been closed before because of the water over it.  In the summer of 1978 while I was expecting DS, a local cowboy rode his horse into the creek in a narrow spot to cross, he drowned.

But Jerry, don't you have a lot of fires, mud slides IF it does rain and earthquakes? Well I guess it doesn't matter where we live as the weather/earth gives us all stuff to deal with.
