Photos of the yard
« on: May 18, 2010, 08:38:54 PM »
My yard is just getting finished. I tried to upload photos here but they were too big.  So here's the link to the album. http://picasaweb.google.com/HollyDeVito777/Garden#

It's looking very nice. You have some very nice lilies and gorgeous fish.

Your lilies are looking great!

Who's the precious little girl in the vegetable garden?

Why do you have the bands criss-crossing the raised beds?

Love your vege garden and your lilies!  I've seen the criss-cross on raised planters to mark out the location of veges planted.

I bet those crisscross bands also help keep the plants growing upward and not tip.

A lot of work there kid. Very nice results.

Thanks, everyone! Someday it will look like Tinks yard!

That beautiful little girl is my almost 2 year old, Bella.

The criss crosses are because I do square foot gardening. It helps to mark the sq. ft.  They are old blinds that my husband stapled to the beds.

Very nice.  Your daughter is so cute!  What is the first waterlily in your photos?  It's so pretty.

Thanks! That's Georgia Peach.  All of the yellow and pink ones are from the same plant.  The pink one is Attraction.

Great pics.  Love the pond.  The raise garden bed is a great idea.

We kinda live in the country and we have a TON of gophers here so we have to do the raised bed if we want vegetables.  They have like 3 layers of wire below them and then pretty much straight compost in them.
