Hi all,
I am busy with work, all the websites and the journal for the IWGS.
I apologize that I don't get by here very often anymore.
When I do get new material I have to get it up on my IWC site or my IWC Facebook page and then after that sometimes things go on the IWGS website or in the journal.
If you have an opportunity and want to check out some newer things, go and "like" my Facebook page for the IWC.
I have been collecting new material for about the last 8 months for the IWC Lily Fest and the IWGS Symposium in San ANgelo.
We are going to have somewhere between 200 and 300 lilies on display.

And yes, you should recognize the last plant... It is Mike aka turtlemike's Nymphaea 'Sunfire'
It is stunning. that was the first bloom and it was nearly 6 inches across on a relatively small plant... Wow.

A couple more while I am here...
We had the coldest winter in over 100 years but we are now 10 inches behind in rain and very toasty... it is so hot the dragonfly are looking for shade.

It's new to the world.
It is Nymphaea 'Wanvisa' a hardy waterlily produced by Mr. Nopchai Chansilpa of Thailand and it is awesome in person.
He is letting us show it at the International Waterlily Collection this year for Lily Fest and the IWGS Symposium.

Love'em all...the red marbled one is beautiful, but somehow Sunfire tugs at my heartstrings

. That is really more than strange because I'm not usually drawn to pink

'Wanvisa'---I sure hope that one comes on the market! Love the pads of the first purple one & of course we all need to get Sunfire

Hey Tim is that first one the Hybrid of your's you told me about ? Wanvisa is the kind of thing I like to see and I look for. Something totaly new. I wonder if it is like Suwana and can revert to all red in time. Very cool.

Thanks all... worked 30 hours in the last 60 and am beat but decided to drop in while waiting on a return call.
Several of you remarked on the Purple with the red pads.
That in Nymphaea 'Ultra Violet' released this year by Florida Aquatics.
It was the IWGS Waterlily of the year 2 years ago.
They also release Nymphaea 'Bulls Eye' this year a runner up.
Even though it has plain green pads it is as great visually as Ultra Violet.

Mike, you asked about my newer red... here is a pic or 2...
Mine is the stellate flower.
I wanted to look at a comparison of color to Bulls Eye so the last shot has Bulls Eye on the left.
The flower is almost like a red version of Nymphaea 'Star of Siam'
The third shot is of it's pad.
What do you all think???

I thought I would update you on this flower from a couple years ago.
I named it officially in a ceremony at LilyFest last year in honor of my mom.
Here is Nymphaea 'Laura Lee'
You'll notice that in the 1st image it is nearly as big as the Australians.
The bloom in the next 2 shots was about 11 inches across and the pads were 18 - 20 inches.
The adult dragonfly can give you a bit of the scope of the bloom.
