Somebody tell me what to do!!

My only lily (the one my DD#1 gave me and has the beautiful pink flower) has popped her top!  What I mean is she is free floating in the pond after popping herself literally out of the pot!  She has big buds and I don't know whether to leave her alone, or try and stick her in a pot.  How would I do that with all the pads?   ?)(?

Help!!!!!!

What size pot did you have it in? You may need a bigger pot or pack it in there tighter. You will need to lay the pads to one side and move them as you pack soil or whatever around it.

my koi will not leave my lilies in their pots--so the lilies in their pond have been free floating for years---the down side it that they don't get as large and they don't bloom as much...so if you still want lots of blooms then you need to repot...

Thanks pondman and lawanna...I don't have koi, just goldfish.  I think she has such a growth spurt, that she pushed herself out of the pot.  I think I'll watch and see how it looks for a couple of days.  I'll get that pot out of there too.  Heck, she could have been floating in there for a while--I just noticed it!   {:-P;;

I just moved a blossoming lily out of a smaller pot, into a larger one when I noticed the lily was touching the old pot on each side. I don't see why you couldn't carefully pot it up...Yup, pack it in good. You do have clay somewhere on that farm don't you? And while you're at it, slap some Osmocote in the new soil.

Yes, I think I'll do that this weekend.  I'll have to wait'l it quits raining and I do have my Osmocote on hand!  And yes, there's plenty of clay soil around here!   :)
