« on: June 28, 2010, 01:47:08 PM »
I know they all came from people on here, just not sure there names and when people ask I'd like to be able to answer.

Thanks! http://picasaweb.google.com/HollyDeVito777/20100627#5487550580342156402

You can't see it in the picture, but the second one has a very light pink around the edges.

I don't remember what it is but I'm sure Lawanna grows the first one. Water willow?

I have the second one and it spreads so well, I almost call it invasive. I think Varigated Water Celery, If you notice the leaves resemble celery a tiny bit. http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=767+774+2718&pcatid=2718

Holly, I do not know what the plants are, but they do not look like Pink Flamingo Water Celery to me. The second plant looks like it has woody stems and water celery does not have type of stems.

It looks like water celery to me, and some of the stems that are under rocks are a reddish color.  It is borderline invasive IMO, so I start yanking, and yanking--if you don't it will take over... :o

It's not woody at all. I had a STRONG suspicion that it was water celery but wasn't sure.  Now that you have confirmed it, I will go with that.  I have it in a small 4" pot.  We don't have very many plants so I'll be happy for it to spread.  It's in an easy spot to pull it up.

If the stems are not woody, then it is Pink Flamingo Water Celery. A beautiful plant indeed with its variations of color.

If you got it from me, it may be Flamingo Water Celery as I do sometimes include that as a freebie.

Kat, I'm pretty sure I got it from you. I thought it was water celery, just wanted to verify it!

Karen, it does look like that minus the flowers. If it has those flowers I will be VERY happy! It is an aggressive plant FOR SURE!

It sure is aggressive... it seems to be popping up among all the rocks in the stream, and sends out runners into the pond and even out of the pond. I'm letting it do what it wants this year, it's the 'messy' look (aka I'm lazy  ;))
