new AP graphics?
« on: July 10, 2010, 08:18:51 PM »
I just noticed today that the AP top header has more vivid colors and somehow seems different. Is this new, or did I notice only now?
My next female cat will be called "Whata Lily"!

It was requested to Jerry that we remove the artwork of the previous artist by said individual. So we now have new custom graphics that are all our own while still in keeping with what used to be there that we are all used to.

Cheers,

I might add this was at the artists request.  Sean and his computer created this beauty.

I find it a little sad, but it is what it is. Looks good, though! Hope you aren't bound by any copyright laws pertaining to the font, position of the art, etc.

The typeface was all Jerry so no copyright infringement there
The original graphic is attached for any and all to see. There is nothing that says the same approximate layout with different graphics can not be used. I have revamped the graphics and will create a new banner as time permits. I can and will do much better but this is the best I could do within an hour in order to remove the previous artists work as requested.

Cheers,

We were happy with the old art. It was only changed at the artists request,.
Not only did Sean do it well but after spending 40 years as a sign Painter I could do it justice as well.

I object to the heron and raccoon!  >:(  They give me the heebie-jeebies, not conducive to calm.

I like it all. It is part of ponding as far as the critters go. I think Sean did a fantastic job.

He is right. A heron is part of ponding.  Many of us have Heron statuary,  I do.

For the time being it will be a placeholder. I want to design a landscape with the various flora and fauna and then have the American Ponders logo fade in and out so you see both alternately, either an animated gif or a flash movie. It looks great in my mind, I just need to sit down and create it.

Cheers,

Sounds fabulous, Sean!  O0  I don't know anything about graphics but wouldn't it be cool to have an animation of sorts of a waterfall, pond, fishies and of course some of your beautiful lilies and other greens.  Now your idea is sending waves of excitement!
