My rant for the day
« on: July 12, 2010, 12:19:40 AM »
Maybe it is a mistake or maybe not, but I have been a memeber here for 2 days.  I was searching trying to find my way around this site, and came across my profile.  What do i find, is that a memeber has already ignored me.  I have posted 20 times in 2 days and said nothing but nice things.  Hopefully this is a mistake.  But this brings me to my next point, and the reason for this rant.

Why is the world so sensitive, in todays society we dont have time for sensitive.  If you see a jobless guy or gal that has a job in front of them, but is too busy wollowing in their own self pitty, do we open their eyes to see the opportunity in front of them? Or worry about feelings and say nothing? (bad analogy, but didnt want to offend anyone.)

We have the biggest unemploymeent rate in the history of time, we have the most homelessness, Furthermore we have many many Americans loosing their lives over seas everyday for that guy without a job that refuses to see an opportunity in front of him, because he is busy wollowing.  Some, my riends i served with as many others have.  But Instead of Honoring our men and women through the news we talk about actresses and actors hooked on crack or in rehab, because the world cant see that the reason they have their opportunity to get hooked on whatever wouldnt be there, nor would the time be given to wollow if that brave Soldier didnt suit up everyday and fight for ALL of our freedoms.
This really has nothing to do with be ignored by a memeber here. Because you know what, if the right has been given, some take advantage of what has been given to them, instead of letting someone know they may have hurt their "feelings."  So to who ever this member is, if i insulted you please PM me and we can resolve it, I am only here to make friends.  And to the moderators reading this, this is not in no way shape or form intended to starttrouble, bash ,put down or harm the "feelings" of anyone.  it is a mere attempt to find the one I may have offended and let them know a little about what makes me tick = ).  Hopefully they will realize they could have pmed me.

I think this is merely an error.
2 vetts, check and see if you are ignoring her albeit inadvertently.  I think it my be the case.

Lerchcon I think yours is a mistake too.  Try to check it out. We will too.

Please mo more comments until we know what happened. Likely a simple glitch.

2 vettes, I checked  You are ignoring a member.  That member is not ignoring you. in fact that member is NOT ignoring anyone.
Sean will check it it too.
Lechercon I see one member is ignoring you.  It is NOT the same member the 2 vettes refers to.

That can be a screwup as well.

I have two people ignoring me and that's OK. It is two less people I have to deal with. LOL. Oh well, now that leaves 1600 people to deal with.

There was a time when I thought the ignore button on the left with the red X meant that those people were ignoring me but then I learned it was where I could ignore them. Never did though. I learned long ago that if I wanted to ignore someone, I just didn't pay any attention to them. Easy enough.

And yup Lerchon, you have 1 and 2vetts has none.

Don't worry about being ignored. Sometimes you would just as soon have someone ignore you. It is there loss and not yours. Since we have many members here, and there are all types of interests, backgrounds, and personalities, it is easy to see why the need for the button. Don't sweat it. Lots of people are enjoying your posts.

Awwww, poor Mikey.

LOL. Come to think of it, Pete has a hearing aid and as much as he has been encouraged to wear it, most of the time he doesn't. His hearing loss isn't much but just enought to bug me. So between his "ignoring" me and his not hearing me, I'm often heard to say, "Did you not hear me or are you ignoring me??"

I asked the member ignoring you if it was a mistake,  She had no idea it was occuring.

Sean put the "Ignore" feature in to avoid clashes.  it is a service to members

I knew about the "Ignore" but I never paid it any attention until now.  I notice that when I drag my cursor (sorry for the proganity.... ;)  ) over the icons for e-mail, PMs etc. the dialogue box opens to describe the icon but no such diologue opens for the Ignore button.  Some members may click on it just to see what it is....

On the bottom left of each post is a little guy with a green shirt. Beside him is a red X. If you want to not ever see that person's posts again, click on the little guy and that person's posts will not show to you. If you change your mind, you can unclick them. That's why I never could figure out why people get into such hassels. If they don't like what somebody says, they can in essence delete them. See that is how you can get rid of me for good.

I don't know which complement to be more proud of, the one about being kind and sweet or the one about the young lady. You are new so don't know that I have my moments when people are not so thrilled about what I say because I says it as I sees it sometimes. That doesn't always make people happy. And about the young lady part. I'm 68 this fall. Where's the time gone? So that explains why I have the time to help people. Besides, I love sharing any information I have so other people will know too. I have always loved teaching. When I worked for the bank, I was the teller trainer and some years I trained about once a month. But they gave us a day off for training and I liked that.

you should be proud of it all, I think that after 68 years you have earned alot of time on your hands.  As we all know we can learn alot from older people, sometimes they are wise beyond their years, and crankier then crap at other moments.  I guess you have to take the good with the bad = )
